Terms of use.
Last updated: 19 April 2026. Plain-language terms for using Funded by Frank. Questions? Email support@meetfrank.ai.
Who we are
Funded by Frank is a trading name of Meet Frank (PTY) Ltd (Reg. 2025/917033/07), registered in South Africa. We run a website at meetfrank.ai and fundedbyfrank.co.za that helps South African SMEs find funding options.
What we are, and what we aren't
We are a funding guide. We ask you a few questions about your business and show you the types of funding that typically fit — plus the lenders who offer them.
We are nota registered Financial Services Provider (FSP) under the FAIS Act. We don’t give financial, legal, or tax advice. Anything Frank (the on-site character) or the site says is general information, not advice tailored to your specific business.
We are nota lender. We don’t approve, fund, or underwrite anything. Any credit agreement you enter into is directly between you and the lender — subject to their checks, their terms, and their pricing.
Using the site
By using Funded by Frank you agree to:
- Provide accurate, honest answers when you go through the questionnaire or submit contact details. Lenders rely on this to decide whether and how to engage with you.
- Use the site for your own business (or one you’re authorised to represent) — not to scrape, resell, or abuse it.
- Not to misrepresent yourself, submit someone else’s details without permission, or use the site for fraudulent purposes.
We may rate-limit, block, or remove accounts we believe are abusing the site — including bot submissions, fake applications, or spam.
How introductions work
When you click “Apply now via Frank” on a product, we share your answers and contact details with that specific lender only. We don’t broadcast them to the full panel.
Lenders may pay us a referral feeif you take up their product. This doesn’t change the rate or terms you get from them, and it doesn’t bias which options we show you — the categories are based on your answers, not the fee.
Accounts
You can use most of the site without an account. If you create one (via email+password or Google), you’re responsible for keeping your login details safe. Let us know at support@meetfrank.ai if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
You can delete your account any time by emailing us. Data handling is covered in our privacy note.
Content and AI takes
The “Frank’s take” cards are generated by AI (currently Anthropic’s Claude). They’re general category-level context, not advice, and not specific to your business. We instruct the AI to avoid making FSP-style recommendations, but AI can be wrong — if something on the site contradicts what a lender tells you, trust the lender.
Product details (rates, terms, minimums) come from publicly available lender info and/or lender-supplied data. We try to keep these current but can’t guarantee they’re perfectly up to date at every moment — the lender’s own quote is authoritative.
Intellectual property
The site’s copy, design, Frank character, and brand belong to Meet Frank (PTY) Ltd. Lender names and logos belong to those lenders. You’re welcome to share links to the site; please don’t copy substantial content, repackage it, or present it as your own.
Liability, in plain English
Funded by Frank is offered “as is”. We try hard to surface accurate, relevant options, but:
- We don’t guarantee you’ll qualify for any product shown.
- We don’t guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party product data.
- We aren’t responsible for what happens between you and a lender after the introduction — pricing, service, approval, repayment, disputes.
To the fullest extent allowed by South African law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the site is limited to ZAR 1,000. None of this limits liability where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, flag it on the site. Continued use after the change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes go to the South African courts with jurisdiction over the matter — but we’d much rather sort it out by email first.
